What a FUN, FUN Mystery Skype we had today! Honestly, they are all fun, but it's exciting to learn about other students of the same age in other countries. We narrowed it down to the continent of South America pretty quickly, and then we went to work! We had a new job during this Skype, tweeters. Ira and Alexander were our first tweeters, and they tweeted during the Skype. Their class, or those that follow us, were able to follow along. After asking questions about map locations, the class guessed correctly that the country was Chile. Next, we started working on the city. Finally, we guessed the city of Santiago. After all of the guessing was complete, each class asked and answered questions to learn more about each other. We learned that the season in Chile is autumn, and the weather today was overcast and temp was in the 60's. The low in the evening was supposed to 49˚. We were jealous as we told them that it was going to be in the 90's in Mooresville! They have class pets also, but . . . . they have 5 tarantulas! I've had MANY pets over the years, but a tarantula has never been one of them. They have lots of rice and beans for lunches.
They also like to play soccer, as many of our students do. Their school is pre-k to 12th grade, but their building is pre-k to 5th. We could have gone on all day asking questions, but time was up and we were hungry! We had a late lunch in order to get the Skype scheduled. It was worth it! We're hoping to have a Today's Meet to chat with them some more.
