We all made predictions on a post it and put the predictions on a chart. The predictions were from 2-6 drops. Next, we got to work! We were in for quite a surprise! Some student were able to put more than 40 drops of water on the penny. One the water reaches the edge of the penny, you begin to see a bubble or dome of water forming on top of the penny. The bubble is the result of the water molecules clinging to one another on the surface of the penny.

How Many Drops . . .
We had a great time on Friday joining in on a Discovery Education special event! We listened to Peter Reynolds, author of The Dot, talk about writing and illustrating.
