Read Across America Week!

Read Across America Week is always a great week at South. It’s always held during the week of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, because he has inspired so many of us at a young age to read. We take that time to celebrate the many wonderful books he has read and enjoy having some fun events. Some of the special things that we did during the week were wear silly socks, dress tacky, wear Cat in the Hat colors (red, black and white, of course), and have guest readers in 2nd and 3rd grades. To our surprise, we had a few other special visitors  . . . The Cat in the Hat, Thing 1, and Thing 2. Things 1 and 2 tried to sneak some things from our room, but don’t worry, we were on top of it! What a fun week!
