Measuring Penny
We read a great book about a girl named Lisa. She has a homework assignment to measure anything at home. I'm sure you have guessed it, she measured her cat named Penny. Each child made his/her own "Penny" and measured the height and width using non-standard units of measurement. Do you know what non-standard it? It is a unit of measurement that is not always the same, such as crayons, paper clips, unifix cubes. The students are doing a great job learning these new concepts!
