Dot Day . . . Make Your Mark . . .

We had such a great time celebrating Dot Day! International

Dot Day is a global celebration of creativity, courage and collaboration centering around "The Dot", a story by Peter Reynolds. It is always celebrated Sept. 15'ish. "The Dot" is the story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her

own abilities by being brave enough to "make her mark". What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes abreakthrough in confidence and courage, igniting a journey of self discovery and sharing, which has gone on to inspire countless children and adults around the globe. Our class

loved the book! We also had a great time singing "The Dot Song". I'll have to share a video of that later, I'll add it. Mrs.

Mrs. Baker read to us!

Baker, our assistant principal, helped us celebrate by coming in and reading a book called "Beautiful Oops". This book fit in perfectly with our celebration! "Beautiful Oops" teachers children that it's OK to make mistakes. Mistakes can be an adventure in creativity and discovery! Check out lots of the exciting things that we did to celebrate "The Dot" around September 15'ish.

Everyone created 3-D dots by coloring a page
from the Quiver app and making it come to life!

  

First we traced our hands and covered
it with dots,  the next day we filled in
the background with other colored dots.
