!!! Exciting Project !!!

Global  Read Aloud!!!

   

The 2nd graders are going global! We’re participating in Global Read Aloud, a project created in 2010 with one simple goal in mind; one book to connect the world. Books have been chosen by the project creator for different grade levels to read aloud for a 6 week period. During that time, we’ll try to make as many global connections as possible with other classes.

We’ll be reading Marty McGuire by Kate Messner. Global Read Aloud begins September 30th and ends November 8th. Each teacher has her own book for class participation, and that is all that is necessary. We’re giving students an OPTION to purchase his/her own copy for $4.00. We are only offering this option so that students can read the book during “Read to Self” time at school, as well as at home while sharing with parents. The children will be getting excited about the book and may want to have a copy. There will not be any activity that we do requiring a student to have his/her own copy of the book, just an option.

Look for a letter about this exciting project to come home on Monday!!!
